Reviews Engine
The right way to ask for a review.
Three things have to be true or the rate falls apart.
The three rules
Miss any one and the system breaks.
- 01
Ask within 2 hours of job completion
The customer is happiest right after the work is done. Wait a day, you lose half. Wait a week, you lose almost all.
- 02
Send a text, not an email
Text gets 98% open rate. Email gets 20%. Same content, 5x the response.
- 03
Use a direct review link
One tap, lands on the Google review form. No “search for us on Google” instructions. Friction kills.
What to actually say
Short, casual, specific.
"Hey {customer name}, this is {your name} from {company}. Thanks for letting us out today. If you have 30 seconds, would you mind leaving a quick Google review? Means a lot. {link}" That's it. No essay. No script.
The follow-up
One reminder, three days later. Then stop.
If they didn't respond to the first text, one polite reminder is fine. After that, drop it. Over-asking turns a 5-star customer into a no-review customer.
The takeaway
Fast, casual, one tap. One follow-up.
Anything more complicated than that produces fewer reviews, not more.
