GBP Suspensions
GBP Mastery

GBP suspensions can wipe out a business overnight.

What triggers them. What to do when it happens.

Avoid all of them.

  • 01
Service-area business with a visible address
If you operate from your home or a yard, hide the address. Don't list a fake storefront.
  • 02
    Fake or unverifiable address
PO boxes, virtual offices, mailboxes. Google catches these and suspends fast.
  • 03
    Keyword stuffing in business name
"Bob's Tree Service Best Tree Removal Sanford NC" is a one-way ticket to suspension.
  • 04
    Multiple profiles for one location
One physical address gets one profile. Multiples look like spam.
  • 05
    Buying or trading reviews
Google detects unnatural patterns. Profile suspended, reviews stripped.
  • 06
    Sudden NAP changes
Changing name, address, or phone in a short window flags the profile for review.

You'll see a notice. The profile goes invisible on search.

Don't panic. Suspensions are recoverable in most cases. Submit a reinstatement request through Google. Include proof of business: utility bill, business license, photos of vehicles with branding, lease agreement, anything tying you to the address.

Four steps. In this order.

  • 01
    Don't edit anything
Touching the profile during a suspension can make it worse. Leave it alone.
  • 02
    Gather proof
Insurance docs, business license, signed contracts with addresses, vehicle photos.
  • 03
Submit a single, calm reinstatement request
One per profile. Multiple requests slow the process.
  • 04
    Wait
Most cases resolve in 3-10 business days. Some take longer. Don't resubmit.
The takeaway

Suspensions are preventable if you don't play games.

Real address, real name, real reviews. Boring is safe.
