Not Showing Up

Five reasons your business isn’t showing up on Google.

Almost every “I’m invisible” problem traces back to one of these.

The five usual suspects.

  • 01
    No verified Google Business Profile
Or you have one but it’s suspended, unverified, or pointed at the wrong address.
  • 02
You’re searching from a different location
Google personalizes results by where you’re standing. Use an incognito map check, not your own phone.
  • 03
Your NAP doesn’t match across the web
Mismatched name, address, or phone tells Google you might not be a real business.
  • 04
    Thin website, thin content
A 4-page site with no service pages or location pages gives Google nothing to rank.
  • 05
Not enough reviews, not recent enough
If competitors have 80 recent reviews and you have 9, you’re below the cut.

Searching your own business name and seeing yourself isn’t ranking.

Google shows you to you. That’s a navigational result. Real visibility means showing up when someone searches “your service near me” without typing your name. That’s the only check that counts.

If you’re newly online, the answer is usually time + signals.

A new GBP needs a few weeks of activity before Google trusts it. A new website needs content, citations, and reviews to stack before it ranks. Most “why am I invisible” problems are really “why am I impatient” problems plus one missing piece.

The fix

Audit the five. Fix what’s broken. Wait 30–60 days.

If you’ve done the work, ranking is a math problem. Not a mystery.
